I Thessalonians 1:1-10

God doesn’t send us to obedience school to learn new habits;

He sends us to the hospital to be given a new heart.

Forget training;

He gives transplants.

Max Lucado

I Thessalonians 1:1-10

The birth of the church in Thessalonica

Dear friends, do not be surprised at the painful trial you are suffering, as though something strange were happening to you.

But rejoice that you participate in the sufferings of Christ, so that you may be overjoyed when his glory is revealed.

If you are insulted because of the name of Christ, you are blessed, for the Spirit of glory and of God rests on you.

1 Peter 4:12-14

Faith, Hope, Love

Commendation for Persistence

The tragedy of our day is not

unanswered prayer,

but unoffered prayer.

Ruth Bell Graham

The one concern of the devil is to keep saints from prayer.

He fears nothing from prayerless studies, prayerless work, prayerless religion.

He laughs at our toil, mocks at our wisdom, but trembles when we pray.

Samuel Chadwick

Don’t prepare to pray; just pray

Don’t read about prayer; just pray

Don’t attend a lecture on prayer; just pray

How to Deepen Your Prayer Life

Don’t engage in discussion about prayer; just pray

Just Pray

Prayer does not require eloquence,

but earnestness.

Faith, Hope, Love

Commendation for Persistence

We need people who are more afraid of missing opportunities than making mistakes.

People who are more afraid of life long regret than temporary failure.

People who dare to dream the unthinkable and attempt the impossible.

“Wild Goose Chase,” Mark Batterson
