  2. What is the Philippine Blog Awards? The Annual Philippine Blog Awards (PBA) aims to recognize notable Filipino-owned blogs in their respective niches. With topics ranging from the arts, culture, technology and politics, Filipinos have become more abreast because of the fast growing blogging industry here and abroad.

  3. What is the Philippine Blog Awards? The Philippine Blog Awards is a venue to showcase notable blogs with quality content that engages readers from around the globe. The PBA is an annual event to promote blogging as a growing new media industry.

  6. A Short History of the Awards The Philippine Blog Awards was a project conceived in the latter part of 2006 to recognize quality content in the Philippine blogosphere that’s co-founded by bloggers Gail villanueva, Abe Olandres and Jayvee Fernandez.

A Short History of the Awards The 2007 Philippine Blog Awards was successfully held last March 31, 2007 at the RCBC Theater, RCBC Tower, Makati City with over 200 bloggers and participants attending the awards night. The awards were covered by Inquirer.net, GMANews.tv, Manila Bulletin, RPN 9 and hundreds of bloggers across the world.

  8. EVENT DATE This year, the awards night is tentatively slated on JULY 19 , 2008.

  9. INSIGHT • The bloggers are the new media generation with the widest reaching in terms of viewership and readership. • This is so because the Net is the most accessible visual/ graphic resource of the global public in the aspect of connection and communication.

  10. EVENT CONCEPT

  11. Thematic Tone: Night of Expressions DECOR/ SET UP: • Super sized and KALEIDOSCOPIC printed punctuation marks embellish the venue. • The punctuation marks will be “parametered” by borders to signify law abidance.

  12. DECOR/ SET UP: • Just like the computer music screen saver, kaleidoscopic visuals will be projected on blank walls. Wide screen Wide screen

  13. DECOR/ SET UP: • Computers line the entrance for interactive viewing of the submitted blogs. • On Stand-by, the screens loops the various sponsors. • There should be a page where last year’s awarding is recapped.

  14. SOUND • Music is hip and trendy. • Select Indie bands can perform during intermission and after party. • Pipe in and music playback will be that of eclectic pop and Indie house.

  15. USP ELEMENTS • Sculptured art for a trophy (by Benhur Villanueva) –unique and appreciating art. • Ala MTV awards with a lot of music flavors. • Featuring, the intermission of creative videos with thematic blog essence.

  17. Particulars Target Market: Bloggers association • # Pax: 200 expected guests • 36 Awards • Cocktail set up and theatre accommodation. (after party venue should preferably be the same place; preferred venue is indoors, auditorium style) • Dressing Room • Trophy Room • Technical Rider (packaged sound system) • Casual / stylish feel (like MTV Music Awards) • Wide Screen • Maximum two intermission numbers • Need sponsor for souvenir program

The remaining floor space will accommodate the bar set-up for the after party look. Lights will be generally dim with some spotlights positioned to highlight logos or thematic displays. A minimac or a rotating projector will beam the kaleidoscope images. VENUE
