  6. Training and Professional Development • Pre-doctoral Psychology Internship • Field Placement Site for Master’s and Doctoral Level Students • Continuing Education for Psychologists, LCSWs, LMFTs, and LMHCs

  9. Youth Service Bureau • Professional Therapy/Counseling Services • Licensed Master’s and/or Master’s Level Therapists • Family Therapy • Parent/Child Therapy • Individual Therapy • Group Therapy • Case Management • ALL services are FREE Services provided for 3 months

  10. Who Qualifies for the Program? • Families with children through 17 years of age • Palm Beach County Residents

  11. Counseling Issues Addressed • Abuse/Neglect • Behavioral Problems • Blended Families • Family Violence • Firesetting • Grief and Loss • Parent/Child Relationships • Separation/Divorce • Step Families • Academic Difficulties • Parenting • Truancy

Who can call the Youth Service Bureau? • Palm Beach County Residents • Parents • Children • School Personnel • Community Agencies • Anyone who knows a child or family who might need help • Any child age 13 and older may go to their parents, counselor, or call directly to visit them in confidence

  14. Highridge Family Center • A72-Bed, 3 month residential program • FREE for Palm Beach County residents • Serves “at risk” adolescents ages 11 to 15 years • Family Therapy based • Addresses family, school, and peer related issues

  15. Exclusionary Criteria • Residents cannot be adjudicated as delinquent and cannot have open or pending cases in the juvenile justice system • Residents cannot be on probation • Residents must not be in need of prescribed psychotropic medication or psychiatric treatment

  16. The Facility Has • Three male and three female dormitory-style “houses” • A Palm Beach County School District alternative education school • Indoor/Outdoor Recreational Facilities • Nutritional Services

Program Components • Family, Group and Individual Therapy • Residential Education - Cognitive-Behavioral Groups • Milieu Therapy • Use of a Value Based Point/Level System • Level 1 – Commitment • Level 2 – Trust • Level 3 – Consistently Responsible • Level 4 – Integrity/Maturity • Parent Education - Multiple Family Groups • Collaboration with PBC School Board • Alternative Education School Site • 4 PBC Teachers • Behavioral Management Staff in Each Classroom Follow up services provided by the Youth Service Bureau
