  2. GEORGIA RED CROSS SOCIETY GOAL The Georgia Red Cross Society has become a stronger national society helping people to prevent and alleviate suffering.

GEORGIA RED CROSS SOCIETY ACHIEVEMENTS • strengthened organizational foundation • legal base (revised Statute, internal regulations & procedures in place); • strategic planning (a five-year Strategic Plan including branch development, youth and volunteer development strategies, diversified fundraising strategy in place); • membership monitoring; • systems (communication, financial management system & mechanisms, logistics); • leadership competence building (two workshops in East and West Georgia);

GEORGIA RED CROSS SOCIETY • strengthened volunteer management in delivering services and providing humanitarian assistance; • improved organizational and service delivery capacities (DM, FA) of local branches • improved programme management and resource development capacities through trainings in PPP, VCA, FR, FM (HQs and 8 local branches) • empowered local communitiesthrough the participatory community development approach (3 local branches); • improved GRCS visibilitythrough disseminating the RC/RC International Movement values and GRCS work

GEORGIA RED CROSS SOCIETY ISSUES TO BE ADDRESSED • Lack of awareness about the Georgia Red Cross role • Weak Human Resource management • M&E mechanisms have to be further developed for implemented projects & strategic initiatives • Lack of opportunities (technical support, funds) to set the mechanisms for better encouragement of Red Cross volunteers at local level. • insufficient fundraising reflected on lack of resources and weak material and technical base.

GEORGIA RED CROSS SOCIETY STEPS FORWARD • realistic vision for local capacity building, volunteer retention, fundraising • strengthened the capacities of community units through establishing volunteer & youth groups within target vulnerable communities and IDPs using PCD approach • improved the capacity of volunteer groups to deliver proper services in DM, H&C including CBFA and PSS to people affected by the armed conflict and to other target vulnerable groups • diversified fundraising ways (membership fees, local donations, local authorities assistance, local private sector) • developed resource mobilization linked to communications and image issues

  8. GEORGIA RED CROSS SOCIETY AREAS OF WORK Rolled out implementation in five target GRCS local branches with the purpose to replicate in fivenewlocal branches throughout the country

  9. GEORGIA RED CROSS SOCIETY COMMUNICATION GOAL Establish effective relations with the general public, disseminating and introducing the main principles and values of the International Movement that will create the image of an impartial organization for the Georgia Red Cross Society

GEORGIA RED CROSS SOCIETY ACHIEVEMENTS • Information disseminated on GRCS regular and emergency response activities and International Movement; • Regularly updated and well functioning website; • Working on improvement of communication between the central office and its branches; • Active cooperation with Media through GRCS Media Club;

GEORGIA RED CROSS SOCIETY MEDIA PROJECT-JOURNALIST AGENCY GOAL: Cover the social issues and provide general public with precise and genuine information on the problems in the social field, at the same time generate incomes to be spent on charity. STRENGTHS : • Only agency entirely oriented on social issues; • Professional team of journalists preparing social reports in Tbilisi and regions; • Selling high quality information product to other media agencies; • Constant cooperation with charity and other organizations providing support to vulnerable people. Main accent on GRCS activities; • Attracting representatives of business sector and donors through information disseminated on social insecurity of people;

GEORGIA RED CROSS SOCIETY Expected results • Information disseminated on social problems faced by numerous people especially in regions; • Good coverage of GRCS social activities and increased interest towards the National Society; • High interest of business organizations willing to support vulnerable people; • GRCS participation in TV reports dedicated to the issue of social insecurity; • Generated incomes from other media agencies purchasing high quality information; • More funding invested in charity through GRCS;

  14. GEORGIA RED CROSS SOCIETY “YOU ARE NOT ALONE” PROJECT GOAL To assist the school children from the families living beyond the poverty line

GEORGIA RED CROSS SOCIETY • “Committee of Five” provides: • food parcels; • school materials; • small scale entertainment events. • “Committee of Five” and youth mobile groups: • develop human approach towards vulnerable children; • raise awareness about the International Movement Fundamental Principles and Humanitarian Values; • ensure youth volunteer recruitment in Red Cross and their involvement in humanitarian, charity and social activities.

GEORGIA RED CROSS SOCIETY • Build the self-confidence of vulnerable children through psycho-social rehabilitation and increase trust towards other young people; • Entertain vulnerable children with the aim to contribute to their integration into society; • Improve youth behavior in terms of treating vulnerable children;
