  4. Scottish Credit and Qualifications Framework (SCQF) A descriptive framework showing the relationship between qualification levels in a Scottish educational context. Provides a clear indicator of progression pathways. Each level (1-12) is outlined in a specification that can be used in Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL).

  5. Scottish Wider Access Regional Forums • Function: to provide support for students and institutions working to promote inclusive education. • Four regions: North Forum; Fife and Tayside Forum; South-East Scotland Forum; West Forum. • Supported by Scottish Funding Council grant aid.

  6. Scottish Funding Council Articulation Project • Aim: to facilitate progression from Higher National Qualifications to Degree studies • Subject specific articulation in: Science; Social Science; Business; Computing; Engineering; Sports Studies. • Seeking to carry out curriculum matching from HNQ-Degree

  7. Subject area: Business • Project strand carried out by Fife and Tayside Regional Access Forum. • Institutions from college and university sectors. • Subject lecturer discussions. • Acceptance of need for co-operation in devising ‘bridging’ units where required.

  8. Issues • 240 Credits at HND level allowing automatic advanced entry into AY3? • Curricular gaps: college or university responsibility? • Funding: the Graduate Endowment. • Multi-agency co-operation: colleges, universities, SQA, QAA.

  9. Workshop Delegates are invited to work in small groups to discuss some of the issues arising from the presentation and to give examples of good practice based on personal experience. 30 minutes are allocated for this task to be followed by a 30 minute plenary feedback session.
