  14. Data Management?? • What is data management to you? • Who has lots of data? • How does Google work? • Does it work well? • Ideas how they manage it ? ? ?

  15. Why do we need management techniques? • Would we have an international credit card system? • Would we be able to use cell phone internationally? • How do they charge and track your calls? Where is that info stored? • How does NTTA manage toll-tag charges and fines?

  16. Why do we need management techniques? • To quickly search for information • To analyze data quickly • Forecasting • Prediction • Mine for information that we didn’t even know we didn’t know. • Perform calculations on massive data sets very quickly
