Assemble

This is a project for two jelly rolls. Some choices I’ve seen have 10 different patterns, with two of each. So, lets get two sets with contrasting shades and lay them out. We are going to make a Spiral!. Assemble. The first task is to make two squares. Overlapping like this shows where to cut.

  2. The first task is to make two squares. Overlapping like this shows where to cut. Sew and Cut Jeff Kaylin (c) 2014

  3. Put the strips back and press the squares open. Next Strips Jeff Kaylin (c) 2014

  4. Now place strips along the top and bottom. Sew and Cut Jeff Kaylin (c) 2014

  5. The two middle “squares” are now 2” by 2.25” (seams ate up 0.25” on three sides.) Next Strips Jeff Kaylin (c) 2014

  6. To continue the Spiral, the reddish strip needs to go to the right, and the bluish strip needs to go to the left. Sew and Cut Jeff Kaylin (c) 2014

  7. Now the central squares are 2” by 2”. The whole rectangle is 8.5” by 6.5”. More Strips Jeff Kaylin (c) 2014
