CLIMATE CHANGES • Collaborative effort with Dr. John Christy, AL State Climatologist & Forecaster Jason Elliott • HSV Records now date back to 1907, instead of 1958 • New climate point at MSL • Huntsville all-time record high:111°, it was 104° (Set 7/29/30) • Over 60% of climate records changed

  6. Proactive Temperature Forecasting • March 2003, Ft Payne and Lake Guntersville had a 29 degree minimum temperature difference. • 2 forecasters working on 10 year minimum temperature climatology study • to improve temperature forecasts

  7. Cooperative Observer Program (NERON) • Added three new COOP sites: Anderson, Owen’s Crossroads, and Collinsville.
