  • Inter governmental structures promote co-ordination and alignment

  • Consultative approach followed: District and Prov. IDP LED Mngrs forum, IDP CC,DCF

  • Alignment and stakeholder engagement: Municipal level platforms for stakeholder engagement and Bi-laterals

  • IDP Co-ordinating(IDP CC) committee convenes municipal, provincial and national department stakeholders at least twice per annum

  • IGR assists planning alignment and co-ordination at strategic and operational management level

  • Multi-sectoral forum: expediting implementation challenges across sectors and ensuring project integration

  • IGR both a means and an end:

  • Illustrated through the Shared Services/IMC example:

    • Establishment of level of standards;

    • Improved access to higher standards of technology;

    • Allows management to focus on more strategic matters;

    • Assists in achieving policy goals of Government by strengthening municipalities and raising standards of performance.
