  2. The Assertion: All the "facts" in the world will not light up your home! A little electrical power will....All the "facts" in the world will not change lives! God's power will....Peter said, "What I have I will give you..." Not one fact... but the lame man walked, leaped, and shouted.... Must have been powerful.... Is this valid?

  3. What about secular facts? Do they change lives? • What about a cancer diagnosis? • What about a financial planning seminar? • What about the facts of history?

  4. Do these facts cause changes every time? No, they do not. Why not? Because people don’t respond to them.

  5. Does God change lives? • 1 Corinthians 6:9-11 • Ephesians 2:1-7 • Galatians 2:20 I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me. Cf. Acts 26:9, 9:1-20

  6. How does He change OUR lives? He calls us. • Romans 8:28-30 He calls us by His word. • John 6:44-45 • 2 Thessalonians 2:13-14 • Matthew 11:28-30, Revelation 22:17, Mark 16:15

How does He change OUR lives? • His word is the instrumentality used to change us. • Ephesians 6:17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; • Hebrews 4:12a For the word of God is living and powerful,… • 2 Peter 3:5-7 • Romans 1:16, 1 Corinthians 1:21

  8. How does He change OUR lives? • His word is the instrumentality used to change us. • Romans 12:2a And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind,… • Ephesians 4:17-24; Colossians 3:1-10 • 2 Peter 1:2-4; 2 Corinthians 3:18

We are born again through God’s word. • 1 Peter 1:23 having been born again, not of corruptible seed but incorruptible, through the word of God which lives and abides forever, • James 1:18 Of His own will He brought us forth by the word of truth, that we might be a kind of firstfruits of His creatures. • John 3:5, Ephesians 5:26

  10. Does God’s word always change lives? • The Devil knows God’s word. Matthew 4:1-11 • The hypothetical criminal knows God’s word. • What’s the problem? • They don’t do God’s word. • Matthew 13:18-23; 7:21-28 • James 1:25, 2:14-26

  11. The Gospel will change our lives and save our souls if we let it. • Believe – John 8:24 • Confess – Matthew 10:32-33 • Repent – Luke 13:3 • Be Baptized – Mark 16:16 • Be Faithful – Revelation 2:10
