  1. Re-digging the WellsPart 3 Holy Spirit Our relationship with God will affect our relationship with other people and our relationship with other people will affect our relationship with God.

  2. Living Sacrifices Living Examples Living Maturity Why do we need the Holy Spirit?

  3. To Impact our lives! John 16:5-15 Now I am going to him who sent me, yet none of you asks me, ‘Where are you going?’ Because I have said these things, you are filled with grief. But I tell you the truth: It is for your good that I am going away. Unless I go away, the Counsellor will not come to you; but if I go, I will send him to you.

  4. When he comes, he will convict the world of guilt in regard to sin and righteousness and judgment: in regard to sin, because men do not believe in me; in regard to righteousness, because I am going to the Father, where you can see me no longer; and in regard to judgment, because the prince of this world now stands condemned. “I have much more to say to you, more than you can now bear.

  5. But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come. He will bring glory to me by taking from what is mine and making it known to you. All that belongs to the Father is mine. That is why I said the Spirit will take from what is mine and make it known to you.

  6. The Holy Spirit wants to: - Guide us. V12-13 I have much more to say to you, more than you can now bear. But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all truth.

  7. Speak to us. V14 He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come. He will bring glory to me by taking from what is mine and making it known to you. Work through us. V15 He will bring glory to me by taking from what is mine and making it known to you.

  8. To impact the church! Acts 2 Day of Pentecost, outpouring of the Holy Spirit, resulting in 3,000 people being saved and added to the Church. Acts 3 Man crippled from birth healed near the temple. This so astounded the onlookers that another 2,000 turned to the Lord (Acts 4:4).

  9. Acts 5 The apostles are doing “many miraculous signs and wonders”, people brought the sick so Peter’s shadow might fall on some as he passed by. The number of disciples in Jerusalem increased rapidly. Acts 8 Philip preaches in Samaria, and his ministry is supernaturally confirmed with miracles, exorcisms, and healings.

  10. Acts 9 Bedridden for 8 years a man is healed with the result that ‘all in Lydda and Sharon turned to the Lord.’ Acts 9 Dorcas raised from the dead and many people believed.

  11. To impact the world Mark 16:15 -18 He said to them, ‘Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation. Whoever believes and is baptised will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned. And these signs will accompany those who believe: in my name they will drive out demons;

  12. They will speak in new tongues; they will pick up snakes with their hands; and when they drink deadly poison, it will not hurt them at all; they will place their hands on sick people, and they will get well.’ Zechariah 4:6 ‘Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit,’ says the LORD Almighty.

  13. 1 Corinthians 2:4-5 My message and my preaching were not with wise and persuasive words, but with a demonstration of the Holy Spirit’s power, so that your faith might not rest on men’s wisdom, but on God’s power alone.

  14. How do we get to the place of ministering in this Holy Spirit, soul-saving power? • Be men and women of the Word of God. Read it, study it, speak it 2) Ask God for a personal Holy Spirit outpouring every day. 3) Pray and ask God to use you with His power to bless others.
