Introduction Universal Access and Service Assessment Report and Update to SADC Guidelines Part II (SADC Guidelines Update) Suggestions & recommendations on how current ‘Policy Guidelines on Universal Access / Service for Telecommunications Services in SADC ’ may be modified to reflect market realities, accommodate competition & convergence, and reflect a more comprehensive approach to universal access and service

Methodology for Guidelines • Step 3: recommendations on changes to the Guidelines to: • bring them in line with international and regional best practices • accommodate changes in the ICT sector, & better reflect market realities • provide a more comprehensive approach to universal access and service • Note: Proposed changed are underlined for ease of identification • Note: Preamble & Glossary not included in presentation due to time constraints
