  3. Opportunities for parents! -King County Technical College -Options for parents wanting to go back to school -Scholarships Available!

  4. Keeping teens engaged and active • Enroll in youth summer programs: • Aim to help kids retain knowledge over the summer • Encourage teens to get involved in activities that are available here in Renton • SET GOALS: • Attending the Renton Libraries once a week

  5. Set aside reading and math time while kids are out of school, for example: • Mondays and Wednesdays students practice math flashcards for 30 minutes • Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays students read for 30 minutes • Encourage students to go online and play Cool Math Games, or work on summer enrichment packets from teachers. • Math: www.math-drills.com (Practice worksheets)

  19. Seattle Parks and RecreationS.O.S Summer of Service (S.O.S.) is a program for youth entering the 7th, 8th and 9th grades NEXT school year. SOS is a program that helps youth identify needs in their community and make a difference while gaining leadership and work skills. Upon completion of the program, youth will receive a $150 stipend.
