revision history tracking database
Revision History – Tracking Database

IACS CSR Tracking Database is available on-line

  •  Objective

- Provide users with a searchable database on CSR revision history with supporting materials

- Provide users easy and quick access to a full and up-to-date history of a particular requirement

  • Test and development:

- It was tested during 2008, and launched to general public as a development version in Nov 2008

- There are now over 60 industry users

  • Web link: www.iacs-csrtrack.org.uk

      • Stiffeners
      • Web frames
      • Midship area
    • Structural enhancements
      • Steel placed where needed
      • Additional criteria applied (S, S+D, Impact, Buckling, Fatigue, Ultimate strength, Empirical)
      • Interaction between structural elements (Plates/Stiffeners)
      • Enhanced design loads (NA, 25 years, hydrodynamics based)
    • Optimization
      • Designers are becoming more proficient with CSR
      • Optimizing to rule minimums
      • Constantly carrying out scantling comparisons with previously approved designs
      • Requesting re-review of local requirements that are “outside the norm”
    • Greater % of higher strength steel being proposed
      • Provided for local plate increases
      • Provided for local high stress areas found during analysis
