  9. So what is procurement anyway? Procurement is a process which encompasses thefull life cycleof the asset or service contract. The ‘life cycle’ is the periodfrom the initial definition of the businessneed throughto the end of the useful lifeof the asset or service contract. It is about securing services and products that best meet the needs of users and the local community in its widest sense. Reducing costs and ensuring value for money

  12. Corporate Procurement Mark's procurement group reports into the Corporate Procurement Team (CPT), but works with the Community Heath and Social Care Directorate. The procurement service supports, co-ordinates and advises directorates to achieve their objectives in all dealings with third party spend; in the most cost effective way to achieve year on year service delivery improvements to ensure compliance with legal requirements

Project Plan • Organise a Provider Workshop 2nd March 2010 • All Care Home providers, phased approach • Letter will be posted next week to those involved • Providers will work in groups / teams to respond to our brief • From the workshop we will have a “supplier led” review • Formal presentation end April by groups of providers • Demonstrate what they have learnt to the wider group
