  4. Learning Blessedness • Blessedness is a state of being, a way you are, not a possession you have. • Blessed means happy, fortunate, in a good place. • To be poor in spirit means to be spiritually bankrupt so that we are in need of God in our lives.

  5. Relearning Poverty • Our world has taught us how to seek after wealth, but we must learn how to become poor and destitute to see God’s Kingdom. • God’s Kingdom starts inside of our hearts and spreads through the Gospel of Jesus to other hearts, until the whole world is His Kingdom. • The Kingdom is characterized by people who are poor and needy for God, desperate for Him.

  6. Key of the Kingdom • When we learn to be poor in Spirit, we learn to become teachable in spiritual things. • When we learn to be poor in Spirit, we experience the Kingdom of God in and around us. • When we learn to be poor in Spirit, we open ourselves to the things of God with an unmatched fervor. • Only when we are poor in spirit will God truly be more than enough!
