  6. Parenting Helicopter parent: hover over their children; want to know and have a say in every aspect of child’s life; pays very close attention

  7. Parenting Authoritative parents: children participate in decisions made it their lives; discussions occur; kids make decisions, but parents have right to veto

  8. Example A 5-year-old wants more snack after school. Her mother tells her no. The child asks, “Why?” And the mother simply says, “Because I said so.” Which parenting style is this?

  9. Example A 3-year-old is playing with another child while the parents eat dinner. The 3-year-old snatches a toy away from the other child. The mother and father of the 3-year-old see this, but do nothing because they believe their child has a right to express himself. What parenting style is this?
