  6. Because the Muslims held a central position in the Old World, it acted as a highway for knowledge between different cultures. The Hindu number system traveled through Muslim lands to Europe. Paper and other Chinese inventions traveled through Muslim lands to Europe. Moslems translated Greek learning into Arabic and Turkish Later, Europeans translated it into Latin.
