  2. PowerPoint • PowerPoint is like looking at a book • You can add pictures, sounds, colors and words • Students can create presentations to be as fun or as serious as they want

TheClassProject • Students will create a PowerPoint presentation based on the research they have completed on plant and animals from a specific biome • Students will work in groups of four • Each group will have a different biome • Groups will create three slides with information and also a title page and a final page • Groups will present completed project to the class

  4. Planning • Students will research a biome • Students will decide what informationthey will use for their presentation. • Students will organize the information on a piece of paper. • Students will decide what sounds, pictures, colors they want to add pizzazz to their presentations.

  5. What do we do? • On a piece of paper, plan your layout, each slide should have a title, picture and text. • Describe your biome • Tell us the plants and animals that live in this biome • List a favorite plant or animal and list three fun facts.

  6. What’s next? • Groups will have 3 days,45 minutes each day, at the computer typing the text portion of their information • Groups willselect background colors • Groups willselect pictures and/or sound that add interest to their slideshow

  7. How do I do this? • Make a storyboard-choose the New Slide icon and select amount and types of slide you will use, then choose a layout. Then, select the Design icon and choose the Theme that you would like, then change the Color and Font. These choices are to the right of the Themes. • First slide-type the title and subtitle • Give each of the next slides a title and write text in the boxes • Insert pictures or sound as needed-Select the Insert icon and then pick Clip Art • Create your final slide-ensure you list resources

  8. How long will this take? • One week and three daysto complete research-30 minutes each day • One week to plan and complete PowerPoint presentation with group-45 minutes each day • After we are all completed, groups will present to the class-one day
