  3. The Meaning • About the singer not liking high school and not understanding why he felt so low through out high school when the films were different

  4. The genre • The genre is indie pop • This is a very common genre for smaller artists as it is become popular in mainstream music as well as it being an easier genre to right in when you are a smaller artist with limited equipment.

  5. The idea (Synopsis) • Set in a classroom, main singer dressed in dark colours and is in the middle. The song is about him not liking or enjoying high school and I think he needs to stand out in a negative way • Montages of high school being happy but with hidden messages of negativity within the set • The ‘perfect’ set and high school starts to break down during the music video until the end it becomes absolutely chaos with papers flying everywhere • Dancers throughout the whole piece • Intertextual references of classic high school films

  6. Visual CuesThe colour scheme is there but it only refers to anyone in the background and not the lead singer

Influences • Mean girls scene when the burn book is released • ’good 4 u’ – Olivia Rodrigo • The Edge of Seventeen • ’Teenage Dirtbag’ – Wheatus • ‘I'm Not Okay (I Promise)’ – My Chemical Romance • ‘Numb’ - Linkin Park • Lady Bird • Ferris Bueller’s Day Off – especially the twist and shout parade scene as well as the art gallery scene

  8. The cast (Who do you hope will be involved in your production?) • Teenagers, high school age • Lead singer – white teenage boy

  9. Performance (How many performers? Any instruments) • How are you going to develop the star persona? How will you represent your artist? • No instruments • Story telling, how much he doesn’t like high school makes him relatable to adolescents • Background dancers, numbers TBC

  10. Narrative (How are you telling a narrative? Story? Thematically?) • Story of how much high school sucks effectively that • For example, feeling the pressure of popularity from your peers, stress of grades and the future as well as relationships (both platonic and romantic) • His high school career coming to an end quite chaotically

  11. The style • Emo skater boy • Dressed black • In the background – relatable

  12. The structure • Opening shot: close up of singer, slowly zooming out, as a tracking shot though • Slow mo of chaos • Birds eye view shot of singer in the middle of the chaos
