  3. The Europeans had two methods of getting to Asia. or traveling by caravans Sailing Both of these methods of travel took a very long time. So trade was limited.

Step #2 Collaboration: 10 minutes In your group share what you wrote about the Who, What, Where, When, Why, and How the English settlers came to the Georgia Colony. Together as a group come up with ONE important aspect of each of the W’s & How and bring it to the rest of the class.

  23. The Charter of 1732 • The colony fell under the responsibility of the Trustees for 20 years. • They set the ground rules for this colony.

  24. King George II gave James Oglethorpe and Trustees permission to create a new colony in between Spanish controlled Florida and the Carolinas. • The Charter of 1732 granted Oglethorpe royal permission to begin this process.
