  2. Mission Statement • Our teams mission is to discover when stars become visible at an altitude between 65,000 and 100,000 feet. In order to accomplish our goal we will be using a digital camera to take pictures and a CCD video camera with an infrared filter to record our data. It is important to our team to accomplish this mission because we want to contribute to the science of high altitude telescope studies. We plan to discover at what altitude stars become visible or if they are even visible during the day at high altitude.

  3. Preflight Tests • We will be running a number of tests to simulate any possible situation that may occur during launch, during the actual flight and any possible occurrences that ay take place during the decent back to the ground. • “Whip test” • Cold of space simulation • Crash landing (drop test) • Stair test • Systems check
