  3. What does IAAS mean? • IAAS is the abbreviation of the International Association of students in Agricultural and related Sciences • It was established in 1957 in Tunis by 8 countries • Today, there are more than 45 member countries in 5 continents involved in IAAS

  4. What do we stand for? Our objective: To promote the exchange of experience, knowledge and ideas, to improve the mutual understanding between students in agriculture and related sciences all over the world

  5. Who is involved? • Young, inovative, open-minded, forward-thinking – this describes the typical IAAS student • The association is completely student run and is registered as an NGO in Belgium • More than 100.000 students from all over the world can be reached through IAAS

  6. What do we offer? • Exchange Program – internships in IAAS member countries (online exchange system) • Yearly World Congress (in 2007 in Germany/Switzerland), • Regional Meetings, • Seminars, • Travelling, meeting new people and having fun

  9. Constitutional Changes Main Change: • 5 members in Executive Committee • President • VP of Finance • VP of Partnership • VP of Communication • VP of Exchange

  10. Reasons for change... • Clearer division of tasks – bigger efficiency and continuity in the long run • Workload problems with just 3 members of the EC in the past • Opportunity for more students to get involved

  11. Organizational Changes • Headquarters are temporarily dissolved • Replaced by secretariat of IAAS – in same place – Leuven • Members of EC live and work in their home countries

  12. Design Changes • Refreshed logo of IAAS • Working on updating and refreshing all IAAS documents • An IAAS for the new Millenium – profesional, efficient and always present to serve the needs of members/students
