  2. MEET Your Teacher • My name is Ms. Williams. • I graduated from Missouri Western State University with my Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education. • I have a dog named Rudi.

Schedule 8:00 Breakfast/playground open 8:30 Class Starts 8:45 Meet on the rug for Opening Activities 9:00 Shared Reading: Familiar songs, poems, chants (4-6 daily), New songs, poems, chants (2-3), Familiar Big Book, New Big Book (every 2 or 3 days).  9:30 Recess 10:00 Workshops (4 rotating small groups) 11:15 Free Reading Time 11:30 Lunch 12:00 Recess

Schedule Cont’d 12:30 Short rest time 12:45 Whole Group Activity: graphing, group games, cooking, almost anything can go in here. 1:15 Journals 1:30 work time (or choice time): The students choose the centers that they want to work at. 2:15 Cleanup, and meet on rug for recall of the day. 2:30 Silent reading or group game like "Duck, Duck, Goose" in front of the classroom. 2:50 Dismissal

  5. Classroom Rules • 1. Respect yourself, your classroom, and your classmates. • 2. Follow Directions. • 3. Use walking feet inside.

  6. Consequences • 1. Warning. • 2. Calming chair. • 3. Parent Communication. • 4. Referral. • 5. Principal visit.

  7. Rewards • Sticker on calendar • Treasure chest visit • Student of Week/ Month • Citizenship Awards

  8. Homework Homework will be sent home at the start of each week and will be returned each Friday in the Friday Folder.

  9. Classroom Wish List • Treasure box items • Copy Paper • Pencils • Colored markers and pencils • Writing paper • Kleenex • Baby Wipes

  10. Parent Involvement • At the start of each month, we will have a parent meet and greet for all parents. • If you have any special talents, field trip opportunities, or skills to share with the class, we would love to have you here! • You are always welcome!
