  2. Volcanoes • The Philippines is a archipelago of more than 7100 islands. A lot of these islands are from volcanic origin. • There are 37 volcanoes in The Philippines and 18 of these are still active. • The most active volcano is Mount Mayon. • For some brave tourists it is a hard obstacle to climb this volcano. • The climb includes a tropical forest, 40 degree ascent of volcanic cinder and lava sands, and near the top tourists are faced with poisonous fumes.

  3. Mountain Tribes • Visit these mountain tribes in Northern Luzon and see how they live just as they did in the past. • Tour through their houses built on piles. These rice terraces are pyramid shaped roof used as a bedroom, kitchen, and storeroom all in one with no windows. • Watch the war-dance (the bangibang) which is a dance in time of tribal conflict. Rice terraces were built by the Bontocs and Ifugao people.

  7. Island Hopping Many tourists like to see many different islands which they can do by island hopping. Tourists also island hop to communicate more with the Filipinos. It is a fairly cheap with all the islands not to far from each other. There are three different types of boats to chose from. The cheapest and slowest of the three is The Pump Boat.   9. Climb the sacred Mount Apo This huge sacred mountain is a great stop for tourists who love nature and mountain climbing. While climbing this beautiful mountain there is a possibility to see the Philippine Eagle which is only found on this island.
