  2. YOUR UNIVERSITY OF TEXAS AT AUSTIN “EID” Steps to create your EID in the UT system

  3. EID Set Up for GED Testers First, go to the Scoring home page: www.utk16.org/scoring Second, click on the link at the bottom of the page: “GED Testers: Click Here for the GED Online Demographic Form.”

  4. EID Set Up for GED Testers The new page, “Welcome to the GED Online Demographic Page,” will open. You can read, print, or download the instructions.

  5. Online Demographic Form Page 1) Scroll down the page and find “Step 1”: Click the web address. 2) You will see the UT system login screen at the next page: 3) Click the “ I need a UT EID” link. Anyone new to the UT system must use this link to set up an EID.

  6. EID Set Up Page New testers will click the “Get a UT EID” link. Clicking this link will take you to a page of questions.

  7. EID Set Up Questions The first questions ask you about your experience with The University. If the questions don’t apply to you, answer “no” and click the “continue” button.

  8. EID Personal Information Page This page shows required and optional questions. You are only required to answer the questions with an asterisk (*) next to them. If you have an email address, provide it now. You can then receive messages about your record. Click “continue.”

  9. EID Security Questions On the next page, you need to set up 3 security questions. If you forget your password or EID, you will need to answer these questions to reset your EID logon – they help to verify your identity. You get several choices for each security question. Choose answers that you can remember! Click “continue.”

  10. EID Password The following step is very important. You may have to try more than once to set up a secure password. English words easily found in a dictionary will be rejected, so split up real words with numbers or special characters. Your password must have at least 8 total characters (letters, numbers, or special characters). “Special characters” are symbols, such as !@#$%&*+-. *Tip: Choose a good password hint so that you can remember it if you forget it. Click the “continue” button when you are done.

  11. Confirm EID Information When all information is completed and accepted, you will be taken to a confirmation page, shown here. Carefully check that your information is correct. If it is correct, go on to the EID confirmation page. If not, you can click a “Go Back” button to correct your information.

  12. New EID After you confirm your personal information, security questions, and create your password, the last page shows you your personal EID. This is permanent; write it down. If you ever forget your EID or password, you can find or reset the information by going to the web address: www.utexas.edu/eid. You are now ready to use your EID to create your GED Online Demographic Record! Go back to the Online Demographic Form page, and find Step 2. Click the link to the GED Online Demographic Form, and get started. There are instructions on the website for the form.
