Commercial Activities Study • Background: • Purpose is to implement the most efficient support • organization at Fort Polk through competition between the • in-house workforce and external contractors • Federal and Army regulations / policies require the Army to • evaluate and potentially outsource certain support functions • The Fort Polk study began in 1998 • Reduction in force regardless of decision • Employees adversely affected will be offered placement • assistance

Selected • Conditional award • Congress, workforce & interested parties notified • Cost comparison documents available for public viewing – 20 May • -- By appointment, DOC Training Rm, Mr. Henry Victor, 531-2135 • Public Review/Appeal Filing Period – 30 working days from 20 May • (ends 1 Jul) • Final decision/contract award – following administrative appeal • processing and any GAO protest (October) • Contract phase-in begins 1 Sep. Full contract performance begins • 1 Mar 03
