Using Components to Calculate the Motion of Projectiles • After calculating the horizontal component of the velocity and the vertical component of the velocity, the change in horizontal displacement and the change in vertical displacement can be found. • The horizontal motion uses the formula for uniform motion • The vertical motion uses a formula for uniformly accelerated motion as the acceleration due to gravity is always horizontal
