  2. The NSE 50 index was launch by National Stock Exchange of India Ltd. It is the largest & high liquid stock in India. • The base period for NSE 50 was 3rd November, 1995. • NSE 50 was later renamed as S&P CNX Nifty.

  3. The S&P CNX Nifty is managed by IISL. Which is a joint venture between NSE & Crisil. • IISL is the first specialized co. focus on the index as a core point. • IISL has licensing & marketing agreement with S&P for co-branding IISL equity share.

  4. S&P CNX Nifty includes 50 companies listed on NSE & represent about 60% of the total market capitalization of NSE. • The base value of the index has been set at 1000.

  5. Objectives • It’s a diversify index & reflects accurate overall market condition. • Its making an attractive portfolio.
