Emotional Support

Informational Support

  • High score (5.7; 1)

    • Irina - you have had such a hard road, but yet you still manage to do so great in school.....I am truly inspired by you. Big cyber hugs and good wishes to you :>

  • Low score (1.2; 2.8)

    • I don't know anything about a ridge like what you have but.... call and ask if you can put ice on your port site before you go in. I put on the cream and then an ice pack over that. It does help out alot.

  • High score (1.2; 4.5)

    • It means that in one spot the tumor extended through the wall of the lymph node. This is noted on path reports, but in the main it isn't considered very significant, and isn't used in staging.

  • Low score (2.8; 1)

    • CY was a very special sister. Pure and kind. BC as a gift, ain't that a novelty?! But I guess after all your friend has been through she's just celebrating that it isn't a recurrance. F-ing strange what cancer does to one's mind, huh??

Intra class correlation
Intra-Class Correlation

  • Single measures are used for single measurements of the raters while average measurements apply when one is interested in the average rating for the k judges (raters).

  • 110 ACOR messages

    • Single measurement

      • ICC(Emotional support) = 0.47

      • ICC(Informational support) = 0.48

    • Average measurement

      • ICC(Emotional support) = 0.90

      • ICC(Informational support) = 0.90

  • 1000 BC messages

    • Single measurement

      • ICC(Emotional support) = 0.54

      • ICC(Informational support) = 0.55

    • Average measurement

      • ICC(Emotional support) = 0.92

      • ICC(Informational support) = 0.92

Breast cancer dataset
Breast Cancer Dataset

  • Cannot mix breast cancer data and acor or bambina’s data set because annotation units are different, numerical versus binary values

  • 1,000 messages annotated by turks

    • 80%: training set

    • 10%: development set

    • 10%: test set

  • Trainingset: train your classifier. Generally speaking the more data you use to train your classifier the more accurate the resulting model will be.

  • Development set: use the development set to evaluate the accuracy of different configurations of your classifier or variations in the feature representation.

  • Test set: after you've built a model that achieves good performance on the development data, you'll use the test set to evaluate how well the classifier does on data other than what you used to develop it.
