  3. LANYARD SEW • Cut 1 long strip of fabric • Measurements: - About 40 in. long - At LEAST 2 ½ in. wide.

  4. LANYARD SEW * Note: The red yardstick below is 36 inches. ZOOMED IN 

  5. LANYARD SEW • Fold the fabric so it remains 40 in. long & pretty sides are together. • Press and then pin all the way down the raw edges.

  6. LANYARD SEW • Sew along the pinned edge with a 3/8 or 1/2 seam allowance. • Be sure to backstitch!

  7. LANYARD SEW • Using the drawstring threader, turn the lanyard right side out. • Do this by completing the following steps:

  8. LANYARD SEW • Attach the drawstring threader to ONE side of the fabric with the safety pin.

  9. LANYARD SEW • Place the threader inside the casing and continue to push it all the way through to the other side.

  10. LANYARD SEW • Once the threader is through to the other side, hold the red wand with one hand and gently push the safety pin into the casing using your thumb.

  11. LANYARD SEW LIGHTLY • While holding the fabric with your left hand, pull the threader with your right hand. • GO SLOW… If the fabric gets bunched, the safety pin will pop off. GENTLY

  12. LANYARD SEW • Hold the fabric 1-2 inches from the edge, and gently pull the threader with your right hand.

  13. LANYARD SEW • Repeat this process until the safety pin makes it safety through the opposite end.

  14. LANYARD SEW • Unpin the threader and completely turn the lanyard right side out. • Next, size the lanyard around your neck. • If it’s too long, trim off any excess.

  15. LANYARD SEW • Tuck the raw edges of the fabric inside the casing. Sew across the edge to close the hole.

  16. LANYARD SEW • Place one end of Velcro on the edge you sewed shut and sew around the Velcro on the edge. • Repeat this process for the other piece of Velcro.

  17. LANYARD SEW CONGRATS!You did it! Now attach your Student ID to the lanyard!
