  1. Brittany Harold My Ignite Presentation: My Classroom and Students

  2. The school that I teach at is located in Clarksburg, WV which is in North Central WV.

  3. Clarksburg is a fairly large and old town. Our school is literally right downtown… two streets up from Main St. There are several businesses and houses located around our school.

  4. Most of the students that come to the middle school that I teach at come from Nutter Fort Elementary School. This is a large school that consists of Pre-k to fifth grades.

  5. Washington Irving Middle School is actually celebrating its 100th as it was a high school before becoming a middle school in 1996.

  6. Our school is known as the home to the Hilltoppers!

  7. These are the 8th grade teachers that I teach with. We are divided in to two teams- gold and blue.

  8. Being an English teacher, I try to balance out reading, writing, and the use of technology. We do several writing assignments throughout the year.

  9. I feel that there is a direct correlation between reading and writing and even though we have a reading teacher at the school, I like to incorporate reading into my class as well. Right now we are currently reading The Diary of Anne Frank.

  10. I like to incorporate technology whenever available and when I feel that it will enrich the assignment.

  11. Being an 8th grade teacher, a goal of mine is to prepare students for high school. Most of the students that we have will be attending Robert C. Byrd High School next fall.
