  2. Vocabulary • Chiaroscuro: An effect of contrasted light and shadow in a 2D artwork • Sfumato: Colors gradually blend together creating soft edges and hazy forms

  4. Vocabulary • Fresco: Painting where colored pigments are added to wet plaster. When the plaster dries, the painting is now permanently part of the wall.
