KIDNEY STATISTICS 25,000 patients on Dialysis 7,000 on transplant waiting list 3000 dialysis patients die each year 400 die on waiting list each year. 2,555 transplants done a year 7 operations a day If we could do just 7 more each day there would be no waiting list within 3 years !.

  3. In the UK 1,500 people die each and every day Of those who die every day, 400 are signed up to the organ donor register

  4. We bury or cremate 800 kidneys every day that belonged to people who wanted to donate their organs after death

  5. Not everyone makes a suitable donorNot everyone dies in circumstances where donation is possibleBut we only need 7 out of the 800

  6. It is time we had an organ transplant system that recognises that people don’t all die in a transplant hospital – but they still wanted to be donorsIt is time to rethink how and where death is forecast and managed
