  4. Professional Retention Goal: 80% Growth Goal: 25%(FY07 20%) Net Increase Goal: 10%(FY07 7.5%) Collegiate Retention Goal: 55% Growth Goal: 60%(FY07 55%) Net Increase Goal: 3%(FY07 2%) Collegiate Upgrades: 25% Statistical Membership Goals FY08

Membership Committee - FY08 Objectives • Set New Membership Statistical Goals • Committee Procedures • COR Motion – Continuation of NSBE/SHPE Joint Membership • Support Evaluation of Membership Value Survey Results • Complete Recognition Program Document started in FY07 • National Membership Awards (wendy.landwehr@swe.org) • New Region Membership award $500 • New Collegiate Award for upgrades and growth $1450 • New Professional Program award $2400

Collegiate Upgrade Program To encourage recent graduates to continue their membership and participation in professional sections or as a MAL after graduation by offering a reduced membership rate. Status of Current Upgrade Program Efforts - Collegiate Upgrade Committee FY08 Goals • 25% of collegiate members upgrade their membership in FY08. (June 2008) • Complete best practices document and distribute to RMCs and RCMCs (September 2007) • Present Collegiate Upgrade session at the National Conference (October 2008) • Create document for RMCs and RCMCs to use at National Conference to request corporate funds to sponsor collegiate upgrades (September 2007) • Provide information on creating region upgrade program and encourage 5 of 10 regions to sponsor collegiate upgrades in FY08 (Regions G and H have programs) (May 2008)

Membership Committee - FY08 Workshops/Events of Interest Related to Membership • Life Members Hospitality Suite – Thursday 8-10 p.m. • Open to all SWE Members from 9-10 p.m. • Member Grade FIG* – Friday 1:00-2:00 p.m. • Mega Issues FIG* – Friday 2:00-3:00 p.m. (to discuss the latest big issues facing the society and how we will respond) • Collegiate Upgrade Workshop – Friday 3:30 -5 p.m. • Membership Meeting – Saturday 10-11 a.m. • for all SWE Members to get updates on various society issues *FIG are open to all SWE Members who are interested
