  2. What is it? The name pretty much says it all. The duty of a Blood Spatter Analyst is to inspect a crime scene for blood stains, and if those blood stains are in any pattern, the amount of blood, and the place where the blood is. The blood is used in a DNA analysis, which will help criminologists and detectives solve crimes and catch suspects.

  3. How to become one Like most jobs, this requires you to go to college. At least a bachelors degree in a natural science to be exact. You will also be expected to have on-the-job training from out on the field, to back in the lab. There are specific classes for different levels of analysts, these classes include biology, anatomy, criminology, constitutional law and statistical analysis. You must also have a degree in a forensic science, and or, criminal justice.

Other Duties People in the forensic science field can testify not only on just personal knowledge, but also their own opinion based on his informed evaluation of the evidence ­presented and scientific tests performed, experience, and ability. They try and distinguish what type of weapon was used. And look at the pattern in which the blood is making to try and guess if the victim was in a struggle or not.

  5. Do they get payed well? Starting as a blood spatter analyst, on average, you make $42,000 a yea. Within 5 years you could be making $75,000. And with 10 years and over it’s around $85,000-$160,000 per year!
