  2. NAFTA Cross-Border Trucking Demonstration Project One-year Project Authorize up to100 MX carriers to operate beyond municipal and commercial zones in United States Authorize up to 100 US carriers to operate in Mexico

  3. NAFTA Cross-Border Trucking Demonstration Project Purpose of the project : (1) Demonstrate the effectiveness of safety programs adopted by Mexico-domiciled carriers (2) Create new opportunity for US carriers

NAFTA Cross-Border Trucking Demonstration Project US DOT Inspector General Interim Report March 2008 (1) FMCSA has plan to check MX trucks, but the plan is not fully implemented (2) Fewer MX carriers and vehicles than expect, meaningful conclusions or projections not possible (3) Independent evaluation panel created
