Jeff Lyng – Colorado Governor’s Energy Office
Neal Lurie – CoSEIA
Joe Beach – Starfire Energy
To address the buzz around solar energy we have assembled a panel for a discussion with experts from three important areas of the solar industry, installation, policy, and advocacy.
Jeff Lyng serves as the Renewable Energy Policy Manger in the GEO where he is responsible for developing legislative and regulatory policies that lead to additional renewable energy capacity in Colorado. He served as the Ritter Administration’s policy lead in developing HB10-1001, Colorado’s 30% Renewable Energy Standard with a 3% distributed generation requirement.
QuestionJoe to Jeff Lyng: There are a variety of motivations for using solar energy (CO2 emissions reduction, local jobs, energy independence, and more). What is the GEO's primary motivation for promoting solar energy?
