TOTALS

Retrenchment of staff

The full staff had been retrenched in April 2010 due to the following:

The vast majority of loaners could not repay loans

Promised funding from the province for Small Mining development did not arrive

The senior staff received reduced salaries and some benefits were not paid anymore like full transport allowances, no food and accommodation allowances

Retrenchment of staff

The sitting allowances of Trustees were reduced and most of the time not paid

Appointment as Service Provider for the Tourism Hub were not honoured

The above resulted in a situation where salaries could not be paid anymore and the staff had been retrenched at the end of April 2010
