  2. Introduction • Hilarious, intriguing, captivating, mysterious, exciting, drama!! Every single one of these words describes our favorite book, Dear George Clooney Please Marry My Mom.

  3. Plot • This book is about a girl named Violet whose dad left the family to start fresh with another wife and brand new children. Violet will never forgive him. Meanwhile Violet’s mother is heartbroken so she dates a man named Dudley Wiener. Violet thinks her mom deserves better, and she thinks George Clooney is the man. Can Violet get a hold of George Clooney? Is he the right man?…..Or is there some one else out there who is perfect for her mom?

  4. Genre • Realistic fiction because it’s like you’re in the book.

  5. Main Characters • Violet, Rosie, Ingrid , Karen, Amanda, Ian, Dudley , Jennica, Phoebe, Lola, and Lucy and Ashley.

  6. Just Right Scale • 1 • 2 • 3 1/2 • 4 • 5 • We chose a 3 ½ because there are some challenging words but there are some text clues and text evidence. • Example: “painted auberginewhich is a fancy word for eggplant which is a fancy word for purple.”Do you see how it breaks the word down so we know what it means.

  7. Setting • Dear George Clooney Please Marry My Mom setting takes place in Vancouver, Canada, and LA California. Violet , and Rosie switch off to see both their mom and dad.

  8. What attracted us to the book • Abby Fried’s sister told us about it. We then found it in the bookstore!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  9. What did we like • We loved it’s hilarious language use!!!!

  10. What didn’t we like or would like to change • We would have changed some of it’s mature language use. Overall though we loved the book so the language use didn’t really matter.

  11. Other books by this author • Some other books by this author are Hank , and Fergus, word nerd she was also a script writer for the popular T.V show Degrassi Junior High and wrote four of the Degrassi books!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  12. Information about the author Susin Nielson lives in Vancouver , British Columbia with her husband , son and big cat . She has been a finalist for the TD Canadian Children’s Book award, and the Schwartz Children’s Book Award, and the Canadian Library Association’s Young Adult Book Award. Plus lot’s more!!!!

  13. Would we recommend this book • Yes to people who like drama and lot’s of comedy .
