  3. New Organizational Configuration National Society of Professional Surveyors AAGS Members GLIS Members NSPS Members

New Mission – Combined Voice The mission of the organization shall be to represent and advance the sciences and disciplines of surveying, geodesy, cartography, and related fields through education and communication, in furtherance of public good. “The realigned organization adopt a structure similar to that of NSPS; that the realigned organization take immediate action(s) to reduce administrative costs; that the realigned organization immediately develop a plan to attract new members in all of the disciplines of surveying, geodesy, cartography and related fields, and develop a marketing strategy."

  5. National and State Organizations • The Professional Land Surveyors of Ohio is affiliated with NSPS, but not a member • State Societies receive information, advocacy, and services from the national organization (Trig-Star; CST Certification) • PLSO provides in-state services directly and indirectly to our members and the surveying industry

PLSO Member Services: • Communication • Quarterly Newsletter – Ohio Surveying News • Monthly eNews • www.ohiosurveyor.org • Expanded members section • Find A Surveyor database for the public • Educational Opportunities • Annual Conference, Fall Seminar and one-day workshops; chapter meetings around the state also offer CPD credits

  7. PLSO Member Services: • Professional networking and collaboration • Organizational Support to chapters • Legislative Advocacy • Development of positive working relationships with related organizations

  8. Moving Forward… • PLSO would be pleased to explore ways we can work with other groups to develop strategies for mutually-supportive activities • Advocacy on “common ground” issues • Educational opportunities
