  4. Serasa Passenger Ferry Terminal • Introduction • The new Serasa Passenger Ferry Terminal was one of the project under the 8th National Development Plan. The project cost is B$4.88 Million. • Operational: 17 October 2008

  5. Serasa Passenger Ferry Terminal • Objectives: -To provide new gateway for the travelers - To link its services from Brunei Darussalam to the neighbouring state of Labuan and Lawas district

Serasa Car Ferry Terminal • Objectives: • To enhance the co-operation among the government of the BIMP-EAGA region, particularly between Brunei Darussalam and Malaysia. • To facilitate convenience, easier transportation for local or foreigner between the two region. • To spur economic activities between Brunei Darussalam and Malaysia. • Complement and intensify joint tourism promotion and development. • To shorten the time frame of traveling between Serasa, Brunei Darussalam and Menumbok, Sabah. • As a cheaper means of traveling between Serasa, Brunei Darussalam and Menumbok, Serasa.

  15. Implementation of Security System • Since November 2006, Ports Department has installed and operating the ‘Vehicle and Cargo Inspection System (VACIS) located at Muara Container Terminal.

Implementation of Security System • 17 November 2008, the Port implement the security screening at both Muara Conventional and Container Terminals, with the following equipments: • X-ray Inspection System – Parcel & Hand Carry Luggage • X-ray Inspection System – Parcel & Check-in Luggage • Handheld Trace Detection System for Explosive, Chemical Agents, Toxic Industrial Chemical or Narcotics • Walkthrough Metal Detectors • Handheld Metal Detectors • Under Vehicle Surveillance System with License Plate Recognition • Heavy Duty High Security Rising Barrier
