Oregon statewide assessmentsAll students • The Oregon Assessment of Knowledge and Skills (OAKS) • Mathematics, • Reading/Literature, • Science, and the • Social Sciences; • The OAKS Writing Performance Assessment; and • The English Language Proficiency Assessment (ELPA) • Kindergarten Readiness Assessment (KRA)

  3. OAKS and Content Standards Oregon students’ OAKS assessments will continue to be based on the: • 2003 English Language Arts content standards and • 2007/2009 Mathematics content standards

  4. Test Administration Manual (TAM) Includes: • Information about OAKS Online and Extended Assessments • OAKS Writing Performance Assessment, paper-based and online test administrations • Information regarding ELPA • New Kindergarten Readiness Assessment (KRA) • Updated annually • http://www.ode.state.or.us/wma/teachlearn/testing/admin/2013-14-tam.pdf

OAKS…be prepared • Summative Assessment • Not designed for student placement • Specific protocols for test administration • Different roles in involved in the administration • Test Administrator (TA) (classroom level) • District or School personnel, substitute teachers, volunteers (all formally trained) • School Test Coordinator (STC) (school level) • Monitoring testing process, Test Administrators • District Test Coordinator (DTC) • Responsible for all administration of testing in a district • One DTC recognized for the district

  6. School test Coordinators & Test Administrators • School Testing Coordinators receive annual training from District Test Coordinators • Test Administrators receive annual training concerning the test administration policies and procedures

  7. Items to remember • Collaborate with District for trainings • Student confidentiality • Test Security • Test Environment • Secure Storage • Test Improprieties
