  2. EVALUATION DETAILS A total of 30 evaluations were turned in, 16 of which were filled out by managers and 14 of which were filled out by individual contributors or employees. A total of 42 people attended the session. The first 4 questions asked participants to rate their knowledge before and after the session, on a scale from 1-5. Questions 5-8 were open-ended with room to write in responses.

  3. I am culturally competent in all aspects of disability inclusion. Managers’ total improvement: 28% IC’s total improvement: 14% Based on 16 manager responses and 14 individual responses.

  4. I understand what the disability game changers will be in the future. Managers’ total improvement: 35% IC’s total improvement: 33% Based on 16 manager responses and 14 individual responses.

  5. I know how to proactively address upcoming trends in the disability communities. Managers’ total improvement: 33% IC’s total improvement: 37% Based on 16 manager responses and 14 individual responses.

  6. I can compare and contrast the needs of different disability communities. Managers’ total improvement: 21% IC’s total improvement: 35% Based on 16 manager responses and 14 individual responses.

  9. OPEN-ENDED ANSWERS • What was your most significant learning today? • Managers: • All of it. So very insightful. Exactly what we needed and so glad we discussed in our planning last year that we would bring it. You brought it to life, Bill. • Thinking about how our websites do regarding accessibility. • USBLN info, stats, and stories from Jill. • Insight and benchmarking. • Variety of resources available locally, and nationally to assist with employees. • Resources and to hear how involved other companies are in this initiative.

OPEN-ENDED ANSWERS • What was your most significant learning today? • Managers: • Numbers and statistics. • Various agencies and political activism going on that could help inform leadership training. • Resources and anecdotes shared. • The number of dollars and total number of individuals impacted. • I enjoyed the information Jill presented. • Inclusion awareness. 503 regulation. • 1 in 5 has a disability.

OPEN-ENDED ANSWERS • How will you use one or more of the tools presented/ practiced today? • Managers: • Sites and studies listed. • Utilize 20-25 with team of recruiters. • Supplier diversity and the work USBLN is doing to create a certifying agency, great work! • Look at what we do as a company. • Marketing and supplier diversity. • Going back to study what my company is doing so that I can make suggestions.

OPEN-ENDED ANSWERS • How will you use one or more of the tools presented/ practiced today? • Managers: • Review marketing materials for representations of person with visible disabilities. • Research and benchmark. • Reach out to the USBLN and look at ways to partner. • The exercises were great. With updated content to also share with our staff. • Suggest to our leadership that we, market our services more to and toward those with disabilities.

OPEN-ENDED ANSWERS • How might you integrate what you learned about disability communities into your organization? • Managers: • Build it into our ongoing D&I conversation with senior leaders to consider and identify areas of focus. • Share with HR staff and connect with sales and marketing. • Help prepare future leaders in business of best practices regarding hiring, interviewing, policy regarding persons with disabilities. • Share with ERG. • Putting ADA into my MWBE acceptance program. • Share info through our D&I classes, groups, etc. • Market that we are knowledgeable and welcoming.

OPEN-ENDED ANSWERS • How might you integrate what you learned about disability communities into your organization? • Individual Contributors: • Working with our regional resource council. • Bringing this information to regional resource groups. • Around talent pipeline. • I’m not a part of an organization but these are useful career skills.

The group I was in were D&I professionals and it was difficult to relate to concepts and what they were referring to. • Great! Thoroughly enjoyed the session! • Speaker was knowledgeable and very well prepared.
