  2. PUNCHDRUNK PUNCHDRUNK; Funded by Arts council England There are 3 key events in the funding cycle; Annual submission: Which is given by Arts Council England each year. Annual review: Each year the company is assessed by a representative of Arts Council England to monitor management, artistic quality, finance, public engagement and risk assessed. Funding agreement: The government sign a contract agreeing that they will allow Arts Council England to supply funding to organisations.

  3. Punch Drunk are also working with Arts Council England through the National Portfolio organisation. This was created in April 2012 to create a relationship between the Arts Council and funded organisations. Their aim is to work across the sector to deal with partnerships, encourage leadership and develop opportunities. There are a series of components that taken together form the funding relationship; • Application • Funding agreement, plans and budgets • Business plan and self evaluation • Quarterly contact and ongoing monitoring • Annual reporting and feedback

  4. How have Arts Council England Have Helped PunchDrunk? They have allowed the company to express their views in a way they wanted to. They have helped PunchDrunk to create performances in abnormal spaces and let audiences experience immersive theatre like never before It has enabled PunchDrunk to become a well known company for being one of the most innovative theatre groups in England.

CANDOCO DANCE Candoco Dance Company is supported by an array of foundations and companies, such as: • Arts Council England • British Council • Paul Hamlyn Foundation • Aspire • The John Ellerman Foundation support the post company Administrotor • Trinity Laban conservatoire of Music and Dance • The Place

  7. ASPIRE Aspire support people with spinal injury and they hope to help take someone from injury to independence. They help to fund candoco and their dancers by also providing any special equipment that they may need in their rehearsal and performance production. Aspire offer grants to the company as funding. Candoco is based at aspire national training centre in north london, and they also advertise candodo events, performances and classes on their website.

Paul Hamlyn Foundation Paul Hamlyn Foundation is an independant grant making organisation, and their mission is to help people realise their potential, and to be able to enjoy a better quality of life. They also provide funding and grants for a variety of different projects for a variety of different ages. Over three years so far, candoco have been funded £176,961 by PHF. PHF projects allow the disabled and non disabled dancers of candoco to work more strategically in different parts of the uk. They can now offer a wider range of workshops, programmes, performances and also the addition of inclusive dance to GCSE specification on examination boards

Comparisons and Contrasts • They are both funded by Arts Council England • PunchDrunk are only funded by Arts Council England and its projects. • Where as Candoco, because of its array of people and being a much larger company, it is funded by multiple organisations which support some indivduals issues within Candoco.
