Advantages/Disadvantages • You can access the grade book from home. • http://204.96.143.234/teacher • Edline is gone! • You will not need to update any pages in Edline. • Interim Reports • The Interim Reports will not be printed as easily as before. • The grades are immediately published. • You will not have to wait for Dave to publish the grades on the weekend.

  3. Before you can start at school: • Make an MMS icon on your desktop. • Double click the MMS icon and login. Type in your username and password. Click login or press enter.

  4. Setup: The first step to setup your gradebook is to tell the program if you want to weight your classes. • Click the class that you want to set up. Then, you will see the following screen:

  5. Click the Setup/Utilities/Reports tab.

  6. Click WeightedorNon-Weighted Categories.

  7. ChooseWeighted or Non-Weighted. Then click Save.

  8. This is the screen you will see after you have pressed save. The next step is to “Set Categories.” Click Setup/Utilities/Reports.

  9. You can set your categories for this class only or set categories for multiple classes.

  10. Enter a Category Code and a Category Name. Click Add Category. If the course is weighted, enter the weight. Weights must not exceed 100%. If Multiple Classes was selected, select the courses to apply.

  11. To see a student roster: Click the course name.

  12. Click the Student Roster tab.

  13. Click the student’s name to get contact information.

  14. Click on any column heading to sort by that field.

  15. You can export your class list to an Excel document.

  16. To create assignments: Click the Assignment tab to add/edit/delete assignments.

  17. Check Publish to show to parents/students.

  18. The assignment is either Required or Extra Credit.

  19. You can add Extra Creditafter each student has at least one graded assignment. When you are adding extra credit, do not use 0 as total points like you did last year. Type an actual number of points available for the assignment. For example, the student earned 3 points out of a possible 5 points. The Extra Credit points will not change the total points possible to be earned for the class.

  20. Add a short title.

  21. The description will clarify for parents and students which assignment it is.

  22. You will choose from the drop down box. The choices are the categories that you setup.

  23. You can type in the date or click and choose from the calendar.

  24. Type the number of points possible for the assignment.

  25. You must click Add Assignment.

  26. To edit or deleteassignments: Click Edit or Delete. If edit, change the drop down box selection. Then click update.

  27. To grade assignments: Click the Assign Grades tab.

  28. You can grade individual assignments or add an assignment and grade it all at once. Final Grade: MMS calculates the final grade, but you have the option to override the grade. After you make that change, if you add other assignments, your override will not be applied.

  29. Select assignments from the drop down box.

  30. You can check the “Assign full credit to all students” button.

  31. Type the number of points the student earned. You can give more points than the value you originally setup.

  32. You can leave the points scored blank if you choose Missing, Exempt, or Dropped.

  33. You can add a teacher note. This is visible to the parents/students. You can explain retakes, drops, reason for grade, etc.

  34. Remember to click “Save Grades.”

  35. To view the summary: Click the Summary tab.

  36. Click on a student’s name to get a detailed grade sheet.

  37. More about Setup/Utilities/Reports: Missing Assignments—lists each student and assignment that is missing. Student Progress Report—generates report to see grade to date.

  38. More about Setup/Utilities/Reports: Drop Lowest Score—currently drops from the grade category that you choose. You can repeat the drop process as many times as you want. Create a Course Announcement—posts an announcement to parents & students.
