  2. Apron An apron is used for protecting clothing from stains, chemicals, and other contaminants.

  3. Gloves Gloves are used to protect hands from stains, chemicals, and other contaminants.

  4. Compass A compass is used for determining geographic direction.

  5. Test Tube A test tube is used for holding small amounts of liquid (can be heated).

  6. Camera A camera is used for photographic documentation of observations that can be viewed at a later time.

  7. Triple-Beam Balance A triple-beam balance is used for measuring the mass of an object in grams.

  8. Hot Plate A hot plate is used as a heat source to heat objects or liquids.

  9. Fire Extinguisher A fire extinguisher is used to put out small fires. P – Pull A – Aim S – Squeeze S – Sweep

  10. Meter Stick A meter stick is used for measuring distance in millimeters and centimeters.

  11. Flask A flask is used for holding or pouring liquid. (It can be heated).

  12. Beaker A beaker is used for holding, pouring, and measuring liquid. (Measures in milliliters and it can be heated).

  13. Stopwatch or Timer A stopwatch is used for counting time.

  14. Tongs Tongs are used for holding or moving hot glassware like flasks, test tubes, or beakers.

  15. Safety Goggles Goggles are used to protect your eyes from chemicals and foreign objects.

  16. Tape Measure A tape measure is used to measure distance in feet, inches, millimeters, and centimeters.

  17. Eyewash Station An eyewash station is used for flushing chemicals or particles from the eyes. Eyes must be washed for 15 – 20 MINUTES.

  18. Microscope A microscope is used to see objects that cannot be seen with an unaided eye.

  19. Funnel A funnel is used for guiding liquid into a separate container so it does not spill.

  20. Eyedropper An eyedropper is used for gathering a small amount of liquid and dispensing it one drop at a time (usually made of glass and rubber).

  21. Computer Computers are used for research and for recording observations.

  22. Hand Lens A hand lens is used to see tiny details on an object that are difficult to see with the naked eye.

  23. Thermometer A thermometer measures the temperature of solids, liquids, and gases in Celsius or Fahrenheit.

  24. Calculator A calculator is used for making mathematical calculations.

  25. Pipette A pipette is used for gathering a small amount of liquid and dispensing it one drop at a time (usually made of disposable plastic).

  26. Graduated Cylinder A graduated cylinder is used for measuring liquid in milliliters (cannot be heated).

  27. Fire Blanket A fire blanket is used for putting out small fires or fires on a person.

  28. Broken-glass Box A broken-glass box is where all the broken glass is placed so that no one gets cut.
