  3. Tim Slade – The Bio Tim Slade is an international V8 Supercar racing hero who lives on the Gold Coast. Originally from McLaren Vale in South Australia, the 26 year old is one of Australia’s brightest racing stars, with a big future ahead. Tim made his national motor racing debut in 2004, driving in the Australian Formula 3 Championship, where he won his first race in his rookie season. He was named Australian Formula Ford Championship Runner Up in 2006, and continued racing open wheelers until 2007. It was then he moved into the world of V8 Supercars, racing with ANT Racing in a Ford BA Falcon. In 2008 Tim formed his own team “Slade Speed” in the Fujitsu V8 Supercar series and won the first race and round of the season, an achievement he cites as his most memorable racing moment. In 2009 his career began to flourish as Tim stepped up into the ‘main game’ of V8 Supercars. The first choice replacement for retiring veteran Paul Morris in the Supercheap Auto Racing Holden Team, he made his V8 series debut on the 21st March, 2009 at the Clipsal 500 in Adelaide. That same year he claimed a commendable top ten overall result in endurance races at Phillip Island and Mount Panorama. 2010 saw Tim achieve a season best finish of 16th, racing with the front running Ford team, Stone Brothers Racing with long-time supporter James Rosenburg. In August 2011, he continued to improve his form with a top two finish on home turf at the Queensland Raceway (Round 8, Race 18) which led to a ninth placing overall for the International V8 Supercar series. Now entering his fourth year of full time racing in the V8 Supercars Championship, Tim begins the 2012 series with a considerable edge in a brand new V8 Ford Falcon FG Supercar. With the car tailored to fit his build, Tim and his team, along with naming rights sponsor, Lucky 7, have high expectations for 2012. Tim’s race circuit of choice is Bathurst and he never leaves home without a strawberry chapstick. Photo Source: Wilson Security Racing

Slade is looking to climb the ladder even further in 2012. "We finished ninth last year, we have to better that," said Slade. "Last year we showed flashes of form but we need to improve our consistency week in, week out. "I’d expect a top eight this year in the championship, a few more podiums and we'll be chasing for that first win pretty hard as well." 6. Tim Slade – The Press Tim Slade Gives New Car, New Look Shakedown Speed Café,Wednesday 8th Feb, 2012 Tim Slade has given his brand-new Lucky 7 Racing Ford Falcon FG the thumbs up after a shakedown test at Queensland Raceway. The Stone Brothers Racing driver got 20 laps behind the wheel of his new car – one of just two brand-new cars for the 2012 season (Jonathon Webb shook his Commodore VE down at QR yesterday). Slade used the shakedown to reveal his 2012 look, featuring more white on his Lucky 7-backed entry.
“The first laps in the new car were pretty cool, it’s a shame that we only get 20 laps,” said Tim Slade… For Slade, driving the newest Ford Falcon FG in the series (and the last of its kind before the 2013 season sees the introduction of the Car of the Future) is exciting. He hopes it will be the best car he’s ever driven. Read more: http://www.speedcafe.com/2012/02/08/tim-slade-gives-new-car-new-look-shakedown/ Photo Source: Fox Sports

Tim Slade – The Press Tim Slade to Strive for v8 Supercar Success with Dexion Racing Bigpond Sport, 4th January 2007 DexionRacing will return to contest the Fujitsu V8 Supercar championship series in 2007 with Formula Ford sensation Tim Slade behind the wheel of the teams BA Falcon. Experienced driver and team owner Tony Evangelou, who finished 14th in the 2006 championship despite missing the final round whilst making his V8 Supercar championship debut – will take a hands-on approach as team owner, overseeing Slade’s debut year in V8 Supercar competition. Slade, 20, set the Formula Ford world on fire in 2006, finishing a narrow second in the championship thanks to a series of storming performances that have established the young Victorian-based South Australian as a star of the very near future. Tim won five races in 2006, scored three consecutive pole positions and set a number of new lap records.
