6. Introduction

7. When you teach writing in a foreign language, it's important to understand that students need support and motivation at every step.

8. It's important to remember that writing is more than just practising handwriting and completing exercises. The following points are equally important:

9. 1- Expressing opinions.

10. 2- Describing real and imaginary places and situations.

11. 3- Thinking of what you wish to say, and trying to use language to vocalize thoughts in your head.

12. The following elements help to make a writing activity more varied and therefore more motivating for children:

13. 1. Children should be given a variety of tools for writing, anything from pencil to paint.

14. 2. They should also be given opportunities to write on different surfaces such as boards, cards, self made books.

17. Level ( 1 ) Pre-writing Activities

18. Activities included: * Air drawing:

19. Level ( 2 ) Writing Letters

20. Letter shapes; Aim:To learn the correct pen movements.

21. A-Show the pupils a flashcard of the first letter. A

22. B-Write the letter on the board.

23. C-Have the pupils to copy in the air.

24. D- After pupils have practised air writing, give them some papers and have them transfer their skills to papers.

25. E- The ‘ letter ’ can be practised as homework to recycle the skill.

28. The following two letter writing activities are very practical and easy to apply in your classroom .

29. 1 .Textured letters Aim:To help children remember the shapes of letters.

30. A-Make large outlines of letters, A4 size B

31. B- Divide the class into 3 or 4 groups and give each group a letter, some glue and some materials to stick on.

32. C-These can then be stuck around the room as a 3D show.

33. Could you please be my pupils and make a letter card ?

34. 2- Names List Aim: To develop children's Knowledge of letters, to show how they can be grouped to make words and to re-inforce numbers.

35. A- Have children write their names on A4 sheets.

36. B- Attach the list of names to the board .

37. C- The children have to group their names according to the first letter, this will help them to remember letters sequencing.

41. The following word writing activities are very interesting and easy to apply in your classroom .

42. 1. Word banks

43. Aim: To display new words , to enhance word recognition and develop sight vocabulary.

44. A- Make word bank posters for each letter of the alphabet , and make a pocket for each poster to store words as they are learned.

45. B- Prepare some word cards and blank cards.

46. C- Ask for volunteers to put the correct word in the pocket of the right poster.
