  4. Stanly County Partnership for Children Summer Maiden worked At Partnership for children this summer. She was interviewed for an office support position and was chosen over 2 other WIA eligible applicants. The staff at RDC heard nothing but praises from the staff at Partnership about Summer.

  5. This letter was attached to Summer’s Supervisor Evaluation • RDC received a letter from Glenda Hill praising Summer half way through the six week program. • Summer also received a letter of recommendation from her supervisor. & • Summer wrote a letter to the staff at Partnership for Children, thanking them for her experience there this summer.

  6. Letter of Recommendation for Summer Letter from Summer to Worksite

  7. Department of Social Services DSS was another great worksite this year. Keidra Jones was interviewed like Summer for the position of office support assistant and chosen over two other applicants. Keidra’s supervisors praised her and her work each time we spoke with them. The supervisors were also very pleased with our new process including the opportunity for the worksite supervisors to interview and have the right to choose which applicant was placed at their site.

  8. STANLY COMMUNTIY COLLEGE Stanly Community College employed 7 of our youth this summer. 4 positions were office support and 3 were maintenance. RDC Staff with the help of Kathy Gardner from Stanly Community College coordinated a job fair on June 22, 2009 and eligible applicants were invited to the event. Worksite supervisors were at the job fair to inform applicants about each position and explain the duties and responsibilities of them. Applicants were then given the opportunity to interview with each supervisor for positions they were interested in. Supervisors compromised amongst each other after the event was over to choose their summer employees. The SCC experience this year was good not only for the participants but the supervisors and RDC. We had several participant successes this year at the community college and I must say that Mr. Hinson with the maintenance department was an awesome mentor for our youth working with him.
